Post Android and Sync
Anybody have experience w/ the Android system Syncing w/ the Sync?

Am thinking about the Samsung Vibrant but am a Blackberry user. BB works w/ the Sync flawlessly. Any issues w/ the Android system or the Vibrand in particular to be aware of?

I've got the DroidX as a possible iPhone replacement and it works with Sync flawlessly.

Phonebook - Check
Text Messages - Check
Bluetooth - Check
Media Player - Check
Charging - Check

I have the original Motorola/Verizon DROID. It connects ok but I can't answer nor end a call with the steering button :( I have to do that on the phone. Very annoying. Haven't had time to troubleshhot it.

I have a Droid and it works great - all buttons, etc. The problem I'm having is my rear view mirror rattles now so it screws up the microphone reception. All people hear when I'm talking is a loud plastic rattle sound and vibration.

I have the Motorola Droid X (Verizon) and am able to disconnect the phone via the steering wheel. I'm also able to receive and send text messages through the sync system. The phonebook downloads, call history, etc. The only thing it doesn't seem to do is play the phone's ring tone through the speakers. The default Sync ring sounds when I get a phone call.

I have the Incredible Droid and with the leaked OTA and I assume the upcoming Froyo update, it works flawless. The best part is Bluetooth Audio. It reconnects after turning off the ignition when before it would struggle to reconnect. I'm completely happy now. Still can't do Text Messages though and I don't know which phone can. Anybody else have luck with text messages being read back?

Figures. Maybe Froyo 2.2 will let the Incredible do this. The Droid X is huge beside my Incredible. A guy at work got one and brought it over to show me and we held them side by side. He couldn't believe how much bigger it looked. I'm sure the screen size is nice for surfing or watching Videos. Did you have to do anything special to get the sync to read them? Do you just navigate the sync to text messages or do you have to also navigate the Droid X to text messages also? Thinks for sharing.

Sorry I missed the Text message part in your first post. Didn't mean to make you repeat yourself. I'm a little ADD.

I actually wanted the Droid Incredible because it was smaller, better for purses, but I wanted to be able to have my text messages read to me more... lol

When I receive a text message a small envelope appears on the Nav scree right next to the Bluetooth icon. Then a message appears on the Nav screen saying who the text message is from and do I want to listen or view. I touch listen and it reads my text message to me. If I click view it opens a new screen on the Nav and shows the text. If i choose to reply via the Nav screen I can only choose from the preset responses. If i want I can reply from my phone if I want to use a custom message. Other wise I don't even have to touch my phone. The Droid X also allows you to speak your text message into the phone and it types it for you. That feature is actually very accurate.

Hope this helps.

Cool, thanks. This was an informative thread. I always wondered if there was a phone that was compatible with the text feature.
