Post 35 MPG Highway Cruise Today
I did an all highway cruise today, speedo set to 115 km/h, drove 247 kms. I topped up at the start and finish. I burned just under 20 litres. I figured I was getting around 35 mpg. FWD by the way. The info centre was reading 9 litres/100 km the whole time.

Sounds like ideal conditions as well. The Flex is an incredible performer on the economical side of things.

That works out to 34 mpg Imperial gallon - in US gallons it works out to 29 US miles per gallon.

29 ain't bad. I get that with the cruise set at 74. Why do I do 74 you ask? I'm less likely to catch up with people who refuse to use it and fluctuate between 76 and 73. I almost never have to pass anybody.

Nice. Too bad you can't do 70 here in FL.

70? I do all the time Flex4mula. I guess you're up in Palm Beach though - I've seen people pulled over all the time when I've been up that way.

29 mpg U.S. seems more correct than 35 for FWD, so far my best is 28.6 for my AWD. 29 is very respectable given the size and weight, conditions need to be good for averaging 29.

Shoot...I forgot to give my mileage on my last road trip. I travelled an average 120km/hr, AC going, 300+ km and I was averaging 10L/100km. I was pretty darn impressed with that. (I had my cruise set most of the time). On the way home I was kind of a speed demon and was going on average 130-135km/hr. I still got 11/100km. Without AC I've got it down to about 8-9 travelling at 120km/hr now.

I'm pleased with that mileage, especially when travelling up north where gas is about $1.08- 1.10/L
