Gave up dodge for ford...good choice!!
Greetings,
Last week I drove 5 hours and purchased a 2009 Flex SE with 12,400 miles. My first car payment in 14 years but well worth it. Upgraded from a 2002 Chrysler Town & Country LXi. The color is silver/grey with a white top. Nothing fancy bout this one like I saw on some other models but for $20k, I could not be happier.
Located in Iowa and have only seen a handful locally. I will be checking the site out and gathering as much info available. Looking forward to many happy years with this vehicle....

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your conversion to the Flex. I liked the look of the Flex since it came out and made the purchase this April. Really like the interior room and smooth quiet ride. Went all out as this was ouf 1st brand new vehicle ever. We are very happy with the Flex.

Five hours to buy a Flex - now that's commitment! Had you worked it all out before making the trip or were you just "shopping" when you embarked? Sounds like you got a great deal, though. Congrats! I'm in the Chicago 'burbs and don't see that many here either. The numbers do seem to be rising, though.

Re: Gave up dodge for ford...good choice!!
thanks for the welcome. I have been debt free for a bout 5 years now and really debated on how far into debt I wanted to go with a car. I almost purchased another minivan but didn't want to be a "minivan dad". A lot of research searching locally but all the '09s in this area had 25k+ miles on them and the 2010 models were too big of a car payment for me. I finally found one in West Bend, WI and had all the details worked out ahead of time. It was a good family trip other than a flat on the way there. Couldn't get the spare tire off the Chrysler. Luckily some guy stopped and had a pry bar. A little prybar influence and we were back on the road. After picking up the Flex we journeyed on to Lake Michigan and spent the day in the area. Overall a great family experience. Kids absolutely love the Flex other than they cannot eat in it. I will get some pics posted soon and where should I send the donuts??

Well, I am partial to the chocolate covered ones.....drool.....but a bagel would probably be better for me, and a whole grain one at that

Re: Gave up dodge for ford...good choice!!
Just remembered that I have gone from Dodge to Ford two times now. From a 96 Caravan to a 2000 Windstar (my favorite Van so far) and then from an 06 Caravan to the 06 Freestlye (my favorite non van until the Flex comes )
